I’m the worst at packing. I think it’s because my closet is perpetually disorganized and generally filled with a lot of things I never wear, and then the things I do wear get worn into oblivion.

With only the items above, you can create six thousand and twenty four outfits. Granted, one of these outfits is track shorts, a striped t-shirt, a green cardigan, a rain jacket, and heels, but still.

I was afraid making this post was going to make me want to go shopping but it actually just makes me want to throw everything out and start over with two dresses and three sweaters. (However, then I would have to do laundry all the time. I could not deal with that.)

The thing is, there’s a lot of fuss about “what to wear in college,” and I’m not sure why. It’s not like dressing yourself becomes six times harder once you hit university. Everyone has some idea of how to dress themselves, and it’s unlikely to change that dramatically between senior year of high school and freshman year of college.

But the masses want to know what to wear, and so I shall tell you. Wear clothes. Wear jeans and sweaters and invest in some really comfortable flats that you will wear to death. Own at least one maxi dress because it will make you feel like a woodland fairy. You’re gonna need rainboots, because rain happens and going outside is inevitable jk skipping class 4lyfe. A watch is a charming and sparkly anachronism, and on that basis I recommend one. Do you above all else. And like, wear shirts, I guess.

If you’re thinking “wow, what a great rain jacket with the cute toggles. I want to buy that,” I’m not going to give you a link, because I want it for myself and fuck you. But I can send you to my lyst collection in the same vein, where you can find it yourself. Hooray for the internet!
